Act on serious symptoms
Difficulty breathing, blue or grey colouring, a seizure, a child who is difficult to wake or a rapidly worsening condition needs urgent assessment. Seek emergency help nearby rather than waiting for a routine booking or an online reply.
A checklist cannot rule out serious illness
Children can become unwell quickly. If you are worried that a child is seriously ill, seek medical help even if every listed sign is not present. A rash that does not fade under pressure can be concerning, but a rash is not required for serious infection.
Share useful information
Tell the team the child’s age, when the illness began, changes in breathing or responsiveness, medicines given and relevant medical history. Bring the medicine packaging or records if available without delaying care.
Ask for the next-step plan
After assessment, make sure you know the follow-up arrangements and which changes require an immediate return. Confirm routine paediatric availability separately when arranging later care at Green City Hospital.
Questions you may have
Should I wait for a WhatsApp response if my child cannot breathe normally?
No. Breathing difficulty or other severe symptoms need urgent medical care, not a routine messaging service.
