Irregular periods and hormonal symptoms: planning a visit

Describe the change you have noticed

Explain what is different from your usual pattern: missed periods, changing gaps, bleeding changes or associated symptoms. A cycle diary can make the pattern clearer than recalling dates during the appointment.

Avoid assuming one hormonal cause

Irregular periods can have several explanations. Tell the clinician about medicines, contraception, possible pregnancy and relevant changes in health or daily life. The assessment should consider the whole picture.

Ask what needs investigating

Discuss which tests, if any, are appropriate and what each would help clarify. Do not begin hormone medicines or interpret a scan in isolation from the history.

Make follow-up practical

Ask when to return, how results are shared and which changes need earlier contact. Confirm appointment availability with Green City Hospital and bring existing reports to reduce unnecessary repetition.

Questions you may have

Should I bring a period-tracking record?

Yes, if available. Dates and symptom notes can help describe the pattern, but do not delay seeking help because a diary is incomplete.
