Gynaecological emergencies: when to seek immediate care
Severe or rapidly worsening symptoms need immediate assessment at the nearest appropriate emergency service. Do not wait for an online appointment or WhatsApp reply.

Do not wait for an online appointment

Sudden severe pelvic or abdominal pain, heavy bleeding with weakness, fainting or collapse requires urgent medical assessment. If someone is seriously unwell, seek emergency care nearby instead of waiting for an email or WhatsApp reply.

Pregnancy may change the urgency

An ectopic pregnancy can cause pain and bleeding, sometimes before a positive test. Severe pain with dizziness or fainting may signal a life-threatening problem. Symptoms need assessment; a website cannot determine the diagnosis.

Give the team a clear account

If it is safe to do so, describe when symptoms began, whether pregnancy is possible, any recent procedure and the medicines taken. Bring available records without delaying urgent care to collect them.

After the immediate assessment

Ask for an explanation of the findings, the treatment plan and the symptoms that should bring you back. For later follow-up at Green City Hospital, confirm the relevant doctor and consultation time with the team.

Questions you may have

Should I wait for a routine consultation if pain is severe?

No. Severe or rapidly worsening symptoms need urgent assessment, not a routine appointment request.
