Marriage is not a treatment clock
Your wedding date alone does not determine when fertility treatment is needed. The useful information is your health history, age, reproductive goals and how long you have been trying to conceive without contraception.
A planning visit is different from an infertility diagnosis
You can seek advice before trying for pregnancy. Use that visit to discuss existing conditions, medicines, previous pregnancies and questions about preparation. Seeking information does not commit you to assisted conception.
Choose timing with your clinician
If you are concerned about fertility, ask when evaluation is appropriate for your circumstances. Known medical concerns can justify earlier advice; waiting for an arbitrary anniversary may not be helpful.
Prepare as a couple, where relevant
Discuss how you want to handle relatives’ questions, costs, appointments and emotional support. Bring your own priorities to the consultation so that the plan reflects the people receiving care.
Questions you may have
Should every newly married couple start fertility treatment?
No. Treatment decisions need a clinical reason and informed discussion, not social expectations or the date of marriage.
